The Belfast Giants recovered from a 4-1 deficit to win 6-5 at Sheffield, after overtime, in the Elite League. Jason Ruff scored in the first period but the Steelers hit back through Rod Sarich, Regan Darby, Dan Tessier and Shaun Sutter. Jean Phillipe Morin, Curtis Huppe, Ruff and Mark Dutiaume netted for the Giants but Tessier equalised for Sheffield. Huppe was the overtime matchwinner and Ed Courtenay's side now face Newcastle away on Sunday (1730 BST).
