Fifty nine runners will compete at Hereford on Thursday
The going has been described as good to firm, firm in places for Thursday's race meeting at Hereford.
Fifty nine runners are expected to compete over six races, with the first race starting at 1400 GMT.
"The ground is drying quickly so they'll be going around here fast," clerk of the course Katie Stephens told BBC Hereford and Worcester.
"Horses that are running here know what they are coming to run on and know that it will be quick."
Stephens and her ground staff have been watering the course since Tuesday.
"It's very labour intensive watering, I don't think people appreciate the effort required that goes into it," she said.
She added that that the Hereford racecourse is coping well, despite the current financial situation.
"Thankfully it has a very dedicated following and we dropped fixtures last year, so our gates are holding up quite well," she said.
"You get to swell your gate because there is less opportunity to go and it does the track a whole lot of good because we can produce top quality ground all year round."
