Taunton Races will hold their opening meeting of the season on Thursday, with ideal race conditions set for the first of the seven-race card.

The Hurdle Race run over two miles and one furlong will be the feature of the day's racing with Paul Nicholls-trained Thundering Star among the favourites.

Somerset trainers David Pipe, Philip Hobbs and Ron Hodges have also entered horses to the day's racing event.

Organisers say track conditions are ideal for the 90 entries.
