Classic hero Raven's Pass retired

Raven's Pass won the Queen Elizabeth II Stakes in September

Raven's Pass has been retired to Sheikh Mohammed's Kildangan Stud in Ireland following his win in the Breeders' Cup Classic last month.

The three-year-old is owned by the Sheikh's wife Princess Haya of Jordan and trained by John Gosden.

He retires as the winner of nearly �2m from his 12 career starts, which included six victories.

As well as his Breeders' Cup win, he also triumphed in the Queen Elizabeth II Stakes at Ascot in September.

The son of Elusive Quality was second in the St James's Palace Stakes at Ascot, the Sussex Stakes at Goodwood and the French Derby and also finished fourth at the 2000 Guineas at Newmarket.

Jimmy Hyland, the stud's general manager, said: "It has just been confirmed, and he will start at Kildangan next year.

"We are thrilled and it is exciting news for the stud - we are grateful to Sheikh Mohammed for deciding to send him here. He is a great addition and incentive for Irish breeders."
