Walsh won the Grand National on board Papillon in 2000

Ruby Walsh will miss his Grand National ride on board Exit To Wave after breaking his left wrist in a fall at Aintree on Friday.

The Irishman, who won on Papillon in 2000, sustained the injury after parting company with Early Edition in the penultimate race of the day.

Bobby McNally will take the ride on Exit To Wave.

"I feel sorry for Ruby, but for me it was a dream come true," said McNally, who will be riding in the race for the first time.

Fellow jockeys Carl Llewellyn, Mick Fitzgerald and Leighton Aspell all passed fitness tests after suffering knocks on Friday.

Llewellyn, who is seeking his third victory in the National, partners 2002 winner Bindaree.

He cut one of his wrists when falling from Whereareyounow in the Martell Cognac Topham Chase.

In the same race, Fitzgerald, who won the National in 1996 on Rough Quest and rides Kingsmark on Saturday, was injured when departing from Scots Grey.

Aspell, rider of Skycab in the big race, took a bang to his shoulder after being brought down on Claymore.
