The BBC Sport website has secured the rights to show the world's most famous steeplechase, the Martell Cognac Grand National, live. Saturday's popular Aintree spectacular is already broadcast on BBC One and attracts an estimated worldwide television audience of 600 million.
Under a deal with the racecourse, the BBC has won the rights to show all the big races at the three-day meeting live on the internet this year.
UK home broadband users have the oppurtunity of following the action via the BBC Sport broadband console.
The Grand National, with its daunting fences such as Becher's Brook and The Chair, is one of the year's biggest sporting events.
Thirteen other races from the meeting, which starts on 1 April, will also be shown live.
