Guernsey Ladies thrash University of London in EH vase

Hockey: Guernsey Ladies v University of London
Four of Guernsey's seven goals came from Wray, who scored two in each half

Guernsey Ladies dominated their third round England Hockey Vase tie against the University of London on Sunday, running out 7-0 winners at Footes Lane.

Two goals from Izzy Wray saw the home side lead at half-time.

Two more from Wray and one each from Dannie Jones, Chloe Dawes and Hayley Webb sealed the impressive home win.

Guernsey captain Michaela de Vial said: "I think they had their chances, they just didn't put them away and for once all of ours seemed to go in."

She continued: "It was great, it was a real team performance, the girls have trained so hard for this and it's nice to see it all coming to fruition.

"It was tough, they gave us a really good game and we just managed in the last 25 minutes to actually put the ball into the back of the net and convert some short corners.

"Other than that it was a reasonably even game."

After a bye in round one the Guernsey side defeated Phoenix and Ranelagh Ladies 2-0 to reach the third round.

Guernsey have been drawn away to Reigate Priory Ladies for their fourth round match which will take place on 13 March.
