Reading hockey player Iain Mackay says the England team will not be satisfied with anything less than winning the World Cup.

England play their semi-final match against Germany on Thursday.

Mackay told BBC Berkshire: "Our goals, before we set off for Delhi, were to make the semis.

"Now, with the way we are playing, anything less than a win would be pretty disappointing. Winning is what we have got in our sights."

Mackay will play in Thursday's semi-final despite breaking his nose in a clash with India's Sandeep Singh during Saturday's 3-2 win.

His Reading team-mate Jonty Clark is also likely to be named in the England starting XI.

"We're pretty confident if we play near our potential. We beat Germany in the European Nations last summer, so we'll have to wait and see," said Mackay.

"Obviously starting the tournament with a win against Australia really set us up well. We've just gone on from there."
