England's women drew 1-1 with Olympic champions Germany at Cannock on Thursday after the visitors struck a late equaliser. After several good chances to take the lead in the first half, Canterbury defender Mel Clewlow broke the deadlock with a 63rd-minute penalty corner.
However, the Germans fought back to snatch a draw with a last-minute goal from Natascha Keller.
The teams meet again in Cannock on Sunday at noon.
