England Women found world champions Argentina too strong and lost 4-2 in an international friendly at Reading. Kate Walsh opened the scoring from a penalty corner but Luciana Aymar (two), Marine Russo and Gabriela Aguirre gave Argentina a 3-1 half-time lead.
Mel Clewlow completed the scoring with a second-half penalty corner strike.
The match came after England won 2-1 on Thursday and then lost 3-1 on Sunday in a two-match series against Commonwealth Games champions Australia.
England Women have now lined up three more internationals ahead of the World Cup in Madrid in September.
They will face Japan at East Grinstead on 11 August before playing two matches against Olympic champions Germany on 17 and 19 August at Cannock.
