England goalie Carolyn Reid has decided to retire from international hockey after 15 years between the posts. She won 115 England caps and 23 for Great Britain, and helped England to win Commonwealth Games bronze in March.
With England qualified for the World Cup, Reid, 34, said: "I feel like it is the right time to finish playing.
"It has been a very hard decision, but I know the team we have now can go on to bigger and better things, The talent in our squad is unbelievable."
England head coach Danny Kerry said: "Carolyn has been a world-class goalkeeper for many years.
"It will not only be her goal-keeping ability that will be missed, her infectious enthusiasm and team-orientated nature was a magnificent trait.
"I wish her all the very best success for the future, and I hope to see her smiling face around the hockey circuit for many years to come."
