Teenager Lyndsey Benyon was crowned the Isle of Man's women's national gymnastics champion on Saturday. The 14-year-old scored an overall mark of 38.900 for the vault, bars, floor and beam that gave her the overall title as well as the under-15 prize. Fulfilling the Federation International of Gymnastics rules both the under-15 and over-15 age groups were competing for the overall title. Rhyanne Hancock and Christine Stoddart finished second and third overall. Hancock won the over-15s age group with a score of 37.050, just 1.085 off Benyon's score. Stoddart completed the four pieces of apparatus with a score of 35.800. Grace Harrison was forced to withdraw from the competition after suffering a broken leg. Meanwhile Rebecca Johnson won the girls under-13s title, Kaitlin Kneen claimed the under-11s, Chloe Donnelly was the under-9s winner Rachel Kissack picked up the over-11s novice title and Bethany Quayle won the under-11s intermediate.
