Nicola Wilson wins team gold at World Equestrian Games

Northallerton rider Nicola Wilson said she is 'living a dream' after winning team gold at the World Equestrian Games in Kentucky.

She was part of the Great Britain team with Tina Cook, Mary King and William Fox-Pitt - who won individual silver.

Wilson who finished 15th overall on Opposition Buzz told BBC Radio York: "I'm just so proud of my horse.

"To be part of the World Equestrian Games British Team and come home with gold is a dream come true."

She added: "He's such an honest horse and tries his best all the time."

Wilson said Opposition Buzz will now have a break before starting to prepare for next season while she looks ahead to the rest of the year.

"We have another three-day event to go to so I now need to focus on that and the young horses we're producing that will hopefully take over from him when he's too old to compete at this level."
