This 2011 Manx Youth Games will include disability football sessions for the first time in the event's history. Children aged 8 to 15 will be invited to attend training sessions held in each region of the island as well as taking part in the opening ceremony. Disability sports development officer Zoe Carney told BBC Isle of Man: "It will be a great way to learn about the sport from highly qualified coaches." Over 1,200 children will take part in the Games on Saturday, 21 May. Participants can attend weekly football training sessions in all four regions of the island in preparation for that day. Training sessions will start in the week beginning 14 March and will take place for a total of six weeks. Carney added: "The programme will give children with either learning or physical disabilities the chance to learn new skills and techniques in a fun and inclusive environment."
