Alex Buesnel stole the show winning a host of gold medals |
Jersey's disabled gymnasts have claimed the top three places at the British Gymnastics Disabilities Open Championships in Newcastle. Alex Buesnel retained his senior national crown, Martyn Miles improved on his third place last year and Harry Smale moved up from fifth in 2008. Samantha Godel also performed well to take second place in the Women's Open. Buesnel finished first on the rings, on the floor, on the parallel bars and on the high bar. Head coach John Grady said: "Alex arrived at the centre determined to retain his trophy and had put in weeks of hard training to achieve his goal. "He was not to be denied, it was a really fantastic achievement."
