Medal success for British skiers

British disability skiing duo Jane Sowerby and Sean Rose continued their recent good form with podium finishes in their latest set of races.

Sowerby won two silvers and a bronze at the Paralympic Winter World Cup in the Swedish resort of Solleftea.

Rose, meanwhile, also claimed two seconds and a third at the IPCAS Nor-Am races at Kimberley in Canada.

The results are a boost for the British team ahead of the World Championships in Korea which begin on 18 February.

Sowerby, who will be competing at her first World Championships, began her campaign in Sweden with bronze in the slalom, recovering from fifth after the first run to record the fastest time of the day in her second run to move into a medal place.

Full of confidence after that performance, she was then second behind home favourite Linnea Ranudd in both of the giant slalom races.

Rose made a solid start in Canada to finish second, just 0.33 seconds behind American Christopher Devlin-Young, in the first of his two downhill runs with Talan Skeels-Piggins in eighth.

Although Rose had a disappointing second run, finishing just 15th, he recovered his composure in the super-G runs, finishing second in the first and third in the second with Skeels-Piggins in seventh and sixth.
