Paralympic swimmer Dave Roberts has been handed flag-bearing duties for the closing ceremony on Wednesday following his amazing efforts in Beijing. Roberts, 28, from Llantwit Fadre, south Wales, won his fourth title in the Water Cube to equal Tanni Grey-Thompson's 11 Paralympic golds. "I am absolutely thrilled to be chosen to carry the flag," Roberts said. "To be given the huge honour of carrying the flag for such a successful ParalympicsGB team is overwhelming." As well as 11 golds, Roberts also has three silvers and a bronze from previous Games, having made his Paralympic debut in Sydney in 2000.  | 606: DEBATE |
He won his first gold on the second day of the Beijing Games in the S7 100m freestyle. Roberts then won and set records in the S7 400m freestyle (world record of 4:52.35), men's S7 50m freestyle and the 4x100m freestyle relay (world record of 3:51.43). The closing ceremony takes place in the Bird's Nest stadium on Wednesday from 13:00 BST.
