Wetherill's Paralympics is now over after GB's team defeat |
Torpoint's David Wetherill says he is disappointed that he and his GB team-mates lost to China in the Paralympic table tennis. The hosts, who are the favourites, won 3-0 in the last 16 match. "After the match I was so disappointed with the result," said Wetherill, who trains in Plymouth. "I know they were massive favourites but I thought if we played well we could make a name for ourselves and really cause a massive upset." Wetherill played in the doubles match with Will Bailey as they lost 11-4, 11-7, 11-9. "I really didn't play that well," Wetherill said. "I was a little overawed by the whole situation of playing China in China and it was massive."
