Teenage swimmers Matt Whorwood and Jonathan Fox from Newquay are getting ready to compete for Great Britain at the Paralympics in Beijing.
Whorwood, 18, and Fox, 17, will both make their Paralympic debuts next week.
Fox is the world record holder in the S7 100m backstroke for swimmers with mobility difficulties. He will also swim in the freestyle events.
Whorwood, who suffers from dwarfism, will compete in the breaststroke and freestyle events in the S6 category.
Their coach at Newquay Cormorants, Phil Goldman, says both men have a great chance of getting a medal.
"They are definitely absolute top material. It's a question of getting them right on the day. If they're focused correctly they'll come back with the goods," he told BBC Spotlight.
Jonathan Fox has set himself a very simple goal.
"I want to win a gold medal and break the world record in the 100m backstroke," he said.
He added that the sport enables him not only to compete at the highest level, but also to ensure that he can lead as normal a life as possible.
"Swimming loosens my muscles and joints and makes me more flexible. Without swimming I'd probably be in a wheelchair now," he said.
And for Whorwood, whose strongest event is the S6 100m breaststroke, the whole idea of being on one of the biggest stages in the world is enough to make him both nervous and happy.
"It's pure excitement towards the experience and a bit of anxiety towards the race itself," he said.
Fox goes in the S7 100m backstroke on Wednesday, 10 September while Whorwood races in the S6 100m breaststroke on Friday, 12 September.
