Kenny and Storey are aiming for places on the GB team in Beijing |
British Paralympians Darren Kenny and Sarah Storey both missed out at the 2008 Laureus World Sports Awards. They were nominated in the Sportsperson of the Year with a Disability category, but lost out to Dutch tennis player Esther Vergeer.
The Britons both won at last year's World Para-Cycling Championships.
Kenny won two golds on the track and two bronzes in the road events while Storey won a gold and bronze riding under her maiden name of Bailey.
Brazilian swimmer Daniel Dias and German cyclist Michael Teuber completed the nominations.
The ceremony took place in the Russian city of St Petersburg on Monday.
