Darren Kenny was among those celebrating success in France

There were two medals each for Darren Kenny and the tandem pairings of Aileen McGlynn and Ellen Hunter and Anthony Kappes and Barney Storey.

Sarah Bailey overcame a broken collarbone for a gold and a bronze.

Jody Cundy won individual gold and teamed up with Rik Waddon and Mark Bristow to triumph in the team sprint.

Kenny won the CP3 kilometre time trial, improving his own world record to one minute 13.011 seconds to finish just ahead of compatriot Waddon with former Tour de France stage winner Javier Ochoa of Spain in third.

He followed that up with victory in the individual pursuit, beating Ochoa by over six seconds.

McGlynn and Hunter retained their titles in the B/VI kilometre time trial and individual pursuit but they were challenged strongly by two Australian pairings.

Kappes and Storey set a new world record on their way to winning the kilometre time trial.

The British pair saw Australians Ben Demery and Shaun Hopkins go under the old world record mark before they improved it even further for a superb victory.

They then went on to edge out the Australian pairing once more in the tandem sprint.

Jody Cundy continued his progress after switching from cycling last year with gold and a new world record of 1:08.719 in the LC2 kilometre time trial beating his previous best of 1:09.028.

The sprint team put aside the disappointment of being disqualified in the past two years when they claimed gold in another world record time of 50.148 seconds.

Bailey, who finished third in the LC1 kilo time trial, saved her best for the individual pursuit with gold in 3:48.622 for another world record.
