Britain's Peter Norfolk, Lucy Shuker and David Phillipson all won their opening matches at at the Australian Wheelchair Tennis Open in Melbourne. Phillipson beat Chile's Robinson Mendez 4-6 6-2 6-2 in the men's singles and then partnered Niclas Larsson to a dramatic 6-4 1-6 10-4 doubles victory.
Shuker had a 6-2 6-2 win over Israel's Ilanit Fridman in the women's singles.
Norfolk secured a 6-1 7-5 win over Dutchamn Dorrie Timmermans-Van Hall to reach the quad singles semi-finals.
Norfolk, who is aiming for his 12th Super Series title, won the Melbourne title in 2004 when the tournament was a stand-alone event held two weeks after the year's first Grand Slam.
The Briton, who will be hoping to successfully defend his Paralympic quad singles title in Beijing later this year, will now take on world number three Nick Taylor of the United States in the semi-finals on Thursday.
Phillipson, who turned 19 on New Year's Day, is making his Melbourne debut after a successful 2007 in both the junior and senior ranks.
The world number 28 will now play eighth seed Martin Legner of Austria in the second round on Wednesday.
British women's number one Shuker, who is ranked 10th in the world, will now face Dutch world number four Jiske Griffioen on Thursday.
