Lewis lost to Phil Taylor in Birmingham in week seven of the Premier League

Adrian Lewis needs to beat world champion Phil Taylor in his final group match to stand any chance of reaching the semi-finals of the Premier League.

The Stoke-on-Trent player drew 7-7 with Ronnie Baxter in Newcastle on Thursday, leaving him sixth in the table.

Lewis lies two points behind fourth-placed Baxter with just one round of group matches to play.

Taylor, who remains unbeaten in the competition, is the only player definitely through to the last four.

Lewis, Baxter, Simon Whitlock, Mervyn King and reigning champion James Wade are all battling it out for the other three play-off places.

Taylor beat Terry Jenkins 8-5 at the Metro Radio Arena, his 11th victory of the tournament.
