Phil Taylor is looking to win the Premier League title for a fifth time |
World champion Phil Taylor has extended his lead at the top of the Premier League table to seven points after beating Ronnie Baxter 8-4 in Glasgow. Taylor's closest rival, Mervyn King, lost by the same scoreline to defending Premier League champion James Wade. Meanwhile, Stoke's Adrian Lewis defeated Raymond van Barneveld for the second time in the competition. "The crowd were all behind Raymond and it's probably the hardest game of my career," said Lewis after an 8-6 win. The other match of the night saw Simon Whitlock race to a comfortable 8-3 victory over Terry Jenkins, who remains bottom of the table.
