Port Vale must beat Aldershot, says Tommy Fraser

Port Vale must win their home game with Aldershot on Saturday to retain any hope of reaching the play-offs, according to skipper Tommy Fraser.

Vale, currently 10th on 59 points, host fifth-placed Aldershot, who have taken five more points from their 40 matches.

Fraser told BBC Radio Stoke: "Unless we win on Saturday, there's a slim chance we'll get there, so it's one of the biggest games of the season so far."

Micky Adams' side have won four of their last six matches in League Two.

They took maximum points from their Easter programme, with victories away at Rotherham and at home to Dagenham & Redbridge.

Coach Mark Grew added that Vale are in a good position and have a lot of momentum heading into the final six games of the campaign.

"Nobody's expecting Port Vale to make the play-offs," Grew told BBC Radio Stoke. "There's more pressure on those that are in it.

"Ask the Shrewsbury lads, because they couldn't stop winning and now they can't stop losing."
