Jenkins chases fifth-place finish

Jenkins is looking to finish the Premier League season on a high note

Ledbury darts star Terry Jenkins is targeting a fifth-place finish in the Premier League.

Wayne Mardle has had to withdraw from the competition because of ill health and Jenkins says this had had a major impact on his season.

"Losing three points when Wayne was ruled out meant it became much harder for me," he said.

"But I'm battling to try and get that fifth place and that's my aim."

Jenkins will take on John Part at the Sheffield Arena in the penultimate round of Premier League matches and will be expecting a tough match.

Part's play-off hopes were also ended last week when he was beaten by Phil Taylor, but both players will be acutely aware that the higher up the Premier League table they finish, the more prize money they will win.
