Chris Newton, of the Rapha Condor team, won Sunday's 55th annual Lincoln Grand Prix cycle race. Newton, 36, broke clear of Team Ireland youngster Phil Lavery on the final climb up Michaelgate to win by seven seconds and add to his victory in 2000. Sigma Sport's Simon Richardson was third while defending champion Russell Downing finished sixth for Team Sky. Newton told BBC Lincolnshire: "I know the event well. I've been here 16 years so it's great to get my second win."
