Mark Cavendish lost out in the one day Ghent-Wevelgem classic in Belgium |
The Isle of Man's Mark Cavendish failed to claim victory in the Ghent-Wevelgem race in Belgium this week. The 23-year-old missed a vital break while his team-mate, Edvald Boasson Hagen, sprinted to victory. However, Cavendish has had a good season so far, racking up eight wins, including a debut victory at the Milan-San Remo classic in Italy. He will next compete at the Giro d'Italia next month, a race in which he won two stages in last year.
