Horton took the first race of the series before returning to compete in Belgium |
Tobyn Horton swapped his road bike for a mountain bike and won the first cross country race of the new Guernsey Velo Club season on Sunday. Horton was neck and neck with Rob Smart in the early stages of the Norgiots course but powered ahead on the flat sections to seal the win. Smart, who has not been beaten in Guernsey since 2003, came second, with Stuart Le Tissier coming third. This was Horton's last race in Guernsey before returning to compete in Belgium.
