The Fleche Wallonne is Cooke's first World Cup win of the year |
Welsh cyclist Nicole Cooke gained World Cup victory in the Fleche Wallonne. The 2003 World Cup champion finished ahead of Australia's Oenone Wood and Germany's Judith Arndt, ending with a climb up the formidable Mur de Huy.
The success is her first World Cup triumph of the season, following a second at the Primavera Rosa and a wrong turn in the Tour of Flanders.
The 21-year-old Safi-Pasta Zara rider also has three wins to her name this year in non-World Cup events.
