Italy's Stefano Garzelli has taken the 19th stage of this year's Giro d'Italia which went from the Italian skiing resort of Bormio to Presolana. The Vini Caldirola team rider showed his pedigree over the tough 122km penultimate stage.
But rising star Damiano Cunego, of the Saeco team, retained the race leader's pink jersey by finishing just 52 seconds back in fifth place.
Sunday's final stage is a 149km trek from Clusone to Milan.
