Italian Damiano Cunego won the seventh stage of the Giro d'Italia on Saturday to take the overall lead. The Saeco rider took the 214km stage from Frosinone to Montevergine Di Merco ahead of Australian Bradley McGee and Italy's Franco Pellizotti.
Cunego also won stage two between Novi Ligure and Pontremoli on Monday.
A 20-second time bonus for winning the stage put Cunego 10 seconds ahead of team-mate Gilberto Simoni, with Pellizotti 28 seconds behind.
