Constantino Zaballa won the 19th stage of the Tour of Spain on Friday. The Spaniard, riding for Saunier Duval, broke away early in the day to win the 142km (88 mile) stage between Avila and Collado Villalba by over a minute.
"I doubted I would be able to make it because I was alone for so long, but I've been looking for this win since my first year as a pro," said Zaballa.
Roberto Heras retained the overall lead and is now just two stages away from a record-equalling third overall victory.
Zaballa finished ahead of a group of 15 riders headed by Moldova's Ruslan Ivanov and Italian Damiano Cunego.
