Mark Royal has reached the world's top ten for the first time |
Mark Royal has risen to number six in the World Bowls Tour rankings after his win in the Welsh International Open at Llanelli earlier this month. It is the highest position the Suffolk bowls player has reached in his career so far.
Consistent performances throughout the 2007/08 season have made him the highest climber in the list, up from 13th position last year.
Royal also reached the final of the Scottish International Open in 2007.
The 34-year-old from Stowmarket is now likely to be given automatic qualification for the proposed Premier League bowls event being organised by Matchroom Sport which is due to take place in June.
