New man Sam Cricelli has played under coach Paul James for England

Worcester Wolves head coach Paul James says that new signing Sam Cricelli will give his side a mid-season boost.

The England international forward, who was released by Plymouth Raiders after signing from Worthing Thunder, will be at Wolves for the rest of the season.

"Sam is going to bring some much needed energy to the team," said James.

"Having worked with him on the England programme, I'm convinced our style of play will see him achieve the level he attained for Worthing last season."

James added: "He is a good athlete and very mobile.

"Several other clubs were also trying to bring in Sam to their programme."

Guard Kastytis Normantas has been released by the Wolves and will be returning to Lithuania to join a team there.
