Plymouth Raiders upset BBL Championship leaders Mersey Tigers 91-86 at the Pavilions on Sunday, ending the title favourites' 11-game winning streak. The Raiders trailed at the end of each of the first three quarters, and were as far as 15 points adrift. But they rallied in the final stanza, Lehmon Colbert putting them in the lead with a three-point shot before four Evaldas Zabas free throws made it safe. The win followed a 115-83 triumph away to Worthing on Saturday. Zabas, a Worthing old boy, scored 31 points to give Plymouth a rare road win. They opened a 29-15 lead after the first quarter, but a Thunder revival in the second period meant the deficit was cut to a single point before Zabas ensured the visitors led 48-45 going into the second half. Thereafter, 10 unanswered points set the tone for the remainder of the contest, Raiders extending their lead to 64-50 and easing to victory.
