Paternostro won eight in a row before last week's defeat |
Head coach Rob Paternostro says Leicester Riders must be more clinical when they face Cheshire Jets for the second time in a week on Saturday. Jets secured a 92-82 win on their home patch last week - ending Leicester's eight-game winning run in the process. And Paternostro says Riders will have to improve if they are to avoid another defeat at the Northgate Arena. "We did not finish our plays around the basket. We had opportunities early and didn't convert," Paternostro said. Riders remain in fourth spot in the BBL table but Jets are fifth, just four points behind and with two games in hand. | We have a tough run in - three of our last four games are on the road |
The winner of Saturday's match-up will be in a great position to secure a top-four spot and home advantage in the play-offs. And Paternostro is well aware of the threat posed by Jets. "Cheshire played well on Saturday," he said. "They came out early and made shots from all over the place. "When they are able to get comfortable offensively they have personnel that are able to put points on the board. "Now we have a tough run-in - three of our last four games are on the road, so we are going to have to be ready to raise our game and play good, intelligent basketball as the regular season finishes."
