Plymouth Raiders suffered a major blow to their BBL play-off chances after losing to Worcester Wolves and Essex Pirates at the weekend. The Pirates were beaten 84-80 at the University of Worcester Wolves on Saturday before losing 79-75 at home to the Pirates the following day. On five occasions in the fourth quarter the Raiders worked themselves back within one shot of tying the match. But two free throws from Dean Williams secured the Pirates' win. Florentino Valencia was the top scorer for the Raiders with 24 points. The Raiders, who are now 11th in the table, have now lost their last five games in the BBL.
