Sheffield Sharks won their first piece of silverware since 2004

Sheffield Sharks Ryan Patton has praised player-coach Atiba Lyons for assembling the team that landed the club's first silverware in six years.

Sharks won the BBL cup final on Sunday with an 89-86 victory over the Cheshire Jets at the NIA in Birmingham.

Ryan told BBC Radio Sheffield: "Coach Atiba did great recruiting and got some solid players that are out to win.

"It's an accomplishment of one of our goals of the season," added the former Sheffield Arrows point guard.

The win was extra special for Patton who marked his return from injury by scoring 17 points in Sunday's win.

"You know it's good to finally be back. I was out for a couple of games so it feels good to back with my boys and playing."
