Worcester Wolves have signed three more players as they build a squad for their return to BBL action.

Wolves have recruited young Lithuanian Kastytis Normantas, 6ft 9ins American Devin Smith and Bulgarian Petroslav Zafirov, who was released by Worthing.

Head coach Paul James told BBC Hereford & Worcester he was excited about his new arrivals.

"Devin is going to bring some height and athleticism and I hope he'll be the defensive presence I need," he said.

Smith, 26, who hails from Arkansas, recently obtained his British passport and learnt his trade at the Volunteer State Community College in Tennessee.

Normantas, 24, who is a 6ft 3ins combo guard, impressed at the basketball school in his home city of Kaunas, Lithuania.

"Kastytis is a combo guard, who can play both the point and shooting positions equally as well," said James.

Zafirov has all the playing credentials to be a very effective player in the BBL

"I am happy with his addition and am looking forward to him bringing quality to Wolves."

Zafirov, who is 27 and 6ft 8ins, was released by Worthing on Friday.

And James added: "Zafirov has all the playing credentials to be a very effective player in the BBL.

"It's clear that the playing style at Worthing was something very different than he was used to.

"But I'm hoping here at Worcester that Pepe will regain the good form he showed at the start of the season."

Wolves return to BBL action on 3 January against Sheffield Sharks at Worcester University.

Their fixtures were suspended by the BBL following the departure of coach Chuck Evans and six players in November.
