Despite fine home form McKnight's side have won just one away game

Guildford Heat head coach Chad McKnight has praised his side after their 93-82 win over BBL rivals MK Lions.

Player-coach McKnight hit four three pointers in a match total of 18, while Mike Martin top scored for the home side with 26 points.

McKnight said: "In my view, it was one of our biggest wins of the season.

"We were a few players down and had to play some guys who don't normally get the chance to take part in the game and they did a great job."

He added: "The Lions always play tough and physical. We had control of the game from the beginning and when they saw the game slipping away from them, they got even more physical than normal.

"Despite the amount of pushing and elbowing that went on, we didn't get phased and stayed focused on winning."

The result ensured the Heat maintained their 100% home record and move up to fifth in the table, just two points outside the top four.

"We now have six consecutive home wins this season, which puts us in a strong position for Saturday's game against Worcester Wolves," McKnight added.
