Paternostro's Riders have struggled for consistency this season |
Leicester Riders head coach Rob Paternostro was full of praise for October's BBL player of the month Tack Minor after the win over Guildford. Riders hit back to beat Heat 95-77 but narrowly missed out on making it two wins out of two at the weekend, losing a thrilling game at Worcester 113-111. Despite Sundays setback Paternostro is thrilled with Minor's contribution. "It was another great display by Tack; they couldn't handle him," Paternostro told BBC Radio Leicester. "With the way Tack pushes the basketball you have got to be in pretty good shape to stay with him all game." Guard Minor scored 26 points on Saturday as Riders eased past Guildford. And Minor was once again in majestic form on Sunday but was unable to inspire his side to victory at Worcester Wolves, despite top-scoring with 31 points. Wolves had led by 14 (106-92) with just under four minutes remaining but a furious finish by Riders, including three Minor three-pointers, saw them close the gap to one. Minor also had the chance to tie or win in the dying seconds but his last-gasp shot was blocked. Riders are sixth in the BBL, having won five and lost four games so far this season.
