Everton Tigers coach Tony Garbelotto says he is delighted to have signed English forward Dzaflo Larkai from Spanish side CB L'Hospitalet. Larkai, better known as 'Flo', made his debut for the Tigers in the 98-95 defeat by Leicester Riders on Saturday. "Flo is a player that has been on our radar for the past two years so I am pleased we have finally managed to get him," said Garbelotto. "I think the fans will appreciate what he will bring to the side." Garbelotto added: "He is one of the strongest inside players around and is athletic and explosive around the basket." Larkai returns to the UK having spent the early part of his career plying his trade in the American college system at Bellarmine and La Salle universities. Meanwhile the Tigers have also announced the capture of Great Britain Under-21 international Darryl Bethune. The 20-year-old, from Hackney, arrives having spent last season at the London Mets and will add depth to the squad. Everton will be looking to post their first league points of the season when they face the Guildford Heat on Sunday, a match which is to be played at the Liverpool Echo Arena.
