Flournoy's side made a winning start to the BBL season

Champions Newcastle Eagles returned to the top of the British Basketball League after a weekend double victory against Cheshire and Glasgow.

Friday's match against the Jets ended with a 90-86 win for the Eagles, while Sunday's victory at Glasgow pleased coach Fab Flournoy.

"The game was played in a rough fashion, as it always is between us and them," he said.

"It was down to Jessie Sapp that they ran us so close."
