Pops Mensah-Bonsu has returned to the NBA just two days after being cut from the San Antonio Spurs' roster.

The GB forward has been signed for the remainder of the season by the Toronto Raptors, the team he had been trying out with before he joined San Antonio.

He stayed with Spurs just eight days before being released.

Mensah-Bonsu, a key player in GB's drive to EuroBasket qualification last summer, also had interest from the Oklahoma City Thunder NBA franchise.

The British star averaged five points and 3.3 rebounds per game for the Spurs in limited time on court, but was released after eight days of a 10-day contract as San Antonio moved to sign Drew Gooden from the Sacramento Kings.

The Raptors, currently the bottom team in the Atlantic Conference and struggling to make the play-offs, will be Mensah-Bonsu's third NBA club in three years.

His first spell in the NBA was a three-month stint in 2006 with the Dallas Mavericks.
