Worcester Wolves sign up Williams

Worcester Wolves are looking to turn their season around

Worcester Wolves coach Skouson Harker has boosted his squad with the signing of Welsh guard Adam Williams.

Williams was the leading scorer for the Birmingham Panthers last year and Harker told BBC Hereford and Worcester the new man has a lot to offer:

"He's tough, he's hard nosed and he's a gritty guy so I think it's someone we need right now," he said.

The former Leicester Riders player will go into the Wolves squad for Saturday's game against the Cheshire Jets.

The 6'4 guard has been training with the Wolves over the past few weeks and had also previously played under Harker at the Birmingham Bullets.

"I was his head coach and it's been a real pleasant surprise to see how much better he's got in the last four or five years," Harker added.

The Wolves coach had been keen to add to his squad and said Williams will bring some much needed flexibility to his side who are currently second from bottom in the BBL table:

"Right now I think we're a bit limited and some of the guys are playing out of position.

"But Adam will give us some relief and give some of the guards some rest.

"We're expecting a lot of minutes out of the guys and I think we do end up running out of steam.

"It will take time but he knows all of our sets and he's comfortable with the guys so I think he'll bring a lot to the table."
