Skouson Harker has taken Wolves into the top six of the BBL |
Worcester Wolves player-coach Skouson Harker was a happy man after his side returned from Plymouth Raiders with a 97-93 victory. Wolves took the British Basketball League points against a side who were celebrating reaching the BBL Cup final. "Any time you win a game and are outshot on the free throw line 29 attempts to 11 you are doing something right," said Harker. "We attacked the rim, we were able to convert when we needed to most." While Harry Disy and Anthony Paez led the Wolves with 22 and 20 points respectively, Harker refused to single anyone out for praise. "We had a couple guys not well all week and not 100% fit so to take a hit at Sheffield then go down there and play our game and get the win is pleasing," he said. "That being said we slipped up against [Marshall MK] Lions and [Sheffield] Sharks and to be totally honest 2-2 in the four games over eight days was not good enough for the team we put out on the floor each night. "To say I am disappointed about those two losses would be an understatement. "The performance against Sheffield was our worst game of the season and it will be one we want to use as motivation. We did not play with any heart or desire. "Guys on our team stood and watched on numerous attempt to take charges or make a defensive play. "We have addressed it, our guys know it will no longer be tolerated as, in the BBL, if you show up to coast you are going to get your butt kicked." Wolves face another tough challenge on Sunday when they visit BBL Championship leaders Scottish Rocks. Their next home game is on Wednesday, 17 December when they host another high-flying club, Everton Tigers, with tip-off at 1900 GMT.
