Guernsey's women lost 74-59 to leaders Taunton Tigers in English basketball's National League Division Two Midlands and South West on Sunday. On Guernsey's 'home' court at Hamble, in Hampshire, the island side were in touch with Taunton until the end of the first quarter when they pulled away. Amy Wright top-scored for Guernsey with 23 points, while captain Liz Kerr hit 18 and Lizzie Rees 10. Guernsey won their first game of the weekend when they beat Cardiff 74-60. The island side led throughout the match against their Welsh opponents, who are bottom of the table. It was Guernsey's second win of the campaign and their first since the opening day of the season. They are currently fifth in the seven-team league.
