Paternostro is looking for improvements in the Riders
Leicester Riders coach Rob Paternostro was not happy with his team against London Capital despite getting their BBL campaign off to a winning start.
Riders beat Capital 73-56 at the John Sandford Centre with Rod Wellington top scoring with 17 points.
Paternostro saw his team take a 22-point lead in the first quarter but was unhappy with the rest of the game.
He told BBC Radio Leicester: "We played horrible and we need to improve greatly if we're to compete for anything".
The American coach was also baffled by his teams foul count: "The game turned into a wrestling match as London's strategy was to turn it rough although it seems like we were the ones to have all the foul problems!"
Riders forward Phil Missere was named most valuable player and he alleged that some London players had thrown punches during the game.
"Some of their players were playing a little dirty and threw a couple of punches, so we're going review the tape and hopefully send it to the league office," he said.
