Plymouth Raiders have completed their line-up for the forthcoming 2008/09 season with the signing of former NBA player Kwbana Beckles. The 27-year-old forward has enjoyed spells with Atlanta Hawks and Toronto Raptors during his career. "I'm absolutely over the moon to have got Kwbana for the coming season," said head coach Gary Stronach. "He's a very talented player and he'll be a huge hit in the BBL and with the Plymouth fans." Stronach added: "He's got a pretty impressive European pedigree and comes with a great reputation. | I'm very excited about the coming season and I hope the Raiders fans are too | Beckles adds to a very strong front line for the Raiders, who have already re-signed forwards Terrence Durham, Gaylon Moore, DeAntoine Beasley, James Noel and Pat Fitzpatrick. "Practice is going to be better than ever before with 10 strong players going against each other every day," added Stronach. "I'm very excited about the coming season and I hope the Raiders fans are too. It's been a great summer with the sponsorship announcements last week and the news about Kwbana this week." Beckles will join the team at the end of August, in time for the team's pre-season training programme.
